If you were ever one of those people who loved the pen and paper version of dungeons and dragons you owe it to yourself to pick up these games. They are STILL the best role playing games. With this collection you will have countless hours of entertainment (100+ hrs easily). The storyline of this series is one of the best. Graphically, it is dated, but still works on a Windows 7 64bit OS. I've had no issues with the games and they still to this day run flawlessly.
BG1 is available on. for $. USD digitally, but I prefer a hard copy of these games.
Amazon was quick on delivery and I had no issues in the packaging. This is one of the best games I've played in a while and it's early access! I got hooked on this game hard. The graphics, sound, abilities, combat, inventory management all fantastic. The upgrade system for enhancing your gear allows for a lot of variety. I explored every inch of every map, hacking away at the endless relentless hordes of evil that plague the beautiful and varied landscapes. You start in zombie infested swamplands.
Then you unlock the other side of town and it's like something out of the wild west. There is strong variety in enemy design. The ability to open rifts (teleports) anywhere in the game is a dream come true for inventory management. You don't have to make tough decisions about what to carry. Just teleport back to town, sell stuff, and return to where you were. Monsters don't respawn from teleporting.
This also makes tough. I am enjoying 5e and I think for the most part the books are good quality. Monsters in the back are not sorted alphabetically but by cult which actually is rather nice. Some spoilers ahead for players.I ran this through to completion with my group and I'd say it ran fairly well and we all enjoyed it.
It's a sandbox so you have some frustrating jumping back and forth in the book for references but overall it is not terrible. The dungeons are fun and have some interesting encounters. However I found that some of the encounters required the cults to be unreasonably naive especially near the end of the campaign which required a little bit of adjustment,As with any sandbox you need to either adjust dungeons to meet a party's level or forewarn them to run away or avoid things that are too strong. Excellent enhancements!
BETTER than the original when I played it in 1998! I'm using Windows 8.1, brand new computer, and have suffered ZERO glitches all the way to the end.150 hours of total game play. Part 2 is just as good, though I just started it. Ignore previous critiques about glitches if your hardware is new.
Note my comments should be proof that previous problems were COMPLETELY resolved. The enhancements and seamlessness make this a must-own redux classic, now very ready for prime time! By this point in the series, a young reader might start to realize that the pursuit of material success isn't the same as the pursuit of happiness. That's big stuff. These are the best stories I've ever read. War of the Twins, number two in the Twins Trilogy, you really see Raistlin and Cam develop, and truly grow some part of your brain that will aid your empathy forever.I don't know why Raistlin became my favorite character, but these books about the quest for power, the allure of the dark, and what happens when you get everything you want are damn good. Ok, maybe it wasn't 'gentle.' But I, and I'm sure most everyone else who's read this incredibly violent, dark, and surprising trilogy up until now will come into this book expecting the huge, epic, final battle - all the 'goodly' armies of the region taking on Obould's thousands of orcs.Well, to you I say - just read the book.
The first third of the book is absolutely incredible - the whole thing is rolling along just as you've pictured it. The other armies are coming in, 'legendary' characters are showing up. It looks like Drizzt will finally, finally return to Mithral Hall and find his beloved friends are still alive.Then.things take a turn. The Two Swords start to fumble, start to slow. Things aren't progressing the way you thought they would. There's some surprising things that happen, some twists.
Since the last time we checked, two more Sword Coast Legends companion profiles have been published on the game's official website by developer N-Space. It looks like a couple of wizards, and, might join our party in the game: Hommet ShawIt takes a lot for a young wizard to be exiled from Longsaddle, the home of the famously eccentric Harpell wizards, but Hommet Shaw managed to pull it off. He's a very talented wizard, but his attention to detail leaves something to be desired.
To say the least. He's young, and eager, and desperate to prove himself, but, well, necromancy isn't the most widely accepted magical specialty, and it's hard to find a mentor who won't go all (Dine upon the fearsome hatred of the DEAD!) on you. When he sees a chance to accompany the heroes into battle, he takes it as a chance to prove himself. And make some friends in the bargain.Soronil NoonshadowLuskan is a place where reputation means more than honor, and information sells better than ale. And thus, it's the perfect place for Soronil Noonshadow. A moon elf diviner with a taste for mysteries, Soronil is a storehouse of information, both fact and rumor, and he's willing to share it with anyone willing to pay his price.
As such, he is a valuable source for those who, like Illydia and Larethar, seek ways to make up for past mistakes. While he's open to sharing information to those willing to pay or to work for it, his own past is a bit of a mystery. As is his ability to remain alive in Luskan, given the enemies that a man in his line of work tends to make.
